The above images are the covers for the first three editions of this novel. First published in 2011, nearly a full decade ago, this has been a real learning process on a number of fronts. Few copies of the first two editions are available as they are out of print now. The third, which has revised text, is currently available in both print and ebook.
Verdant Plains Park, 10-11-05-01-03sm Amy is standing at the entrance to Elteph Qersill o, staring at the Sedyr characters engraved in the stone, when she hears someone come up behind her. Turning her head, she can see Lexa. The black haired young woman stops beside the white blonde. “You never said why you wanted me here.” “I don’t really know,” Amy’s eyes return to the stone, “I’m not even sure why I’m here.” “You think they do?” Lexa indicates the stone. Amy shrugs. “All this stuff... bloodlines an’ power an’ prophesy... I don’t remember ever havin’ any use for it.” Lexa nods to herself. “I wonder what this Sedya thinks of all that shit. You’re related to her or somethin’, right?” “She’s my great-grandmother.” Lexa slowly shakes her head. “They keep talkin’ ‘bout her like I’ve heard people talk ‘bout you. We’ve known each other somethin’ like fifteen years an’ I still don’t understand it all.” “You prob’ly never will,” Amy takes a deep breath, “Tommy doesn’t either an’ Malcom an’ Kimberly ignore it.” “I guess it’s ‘cause we know you too well.” Lexa shrugs it off. A moment later, she changes the subject, “Do you know why they come out every five thousand years?” Amy shakes her head. “Even Rodq Lendar doesn’t know,” A thought occurs to her, “You’ll have your bow tomorrow, won’t you?” “If you think I’ll need it.”
